THE END OF AN ERA
To all our amazing members, past members, life members, followers and friends, after 48 years as a speaking club in Richmond, Powertalk Nelson-Waimea is closing its doors.
It has been a fabulous journey; over the years, we had a few name changes from first chartering in 1976 as an International Toastmistress club, then to ITC (International Training in Communication), and finally to Powertalk.
We have helped hundreds of men and women to gain valuable life skills and had a lot of fun in the process.
As from the 31st December 2024, we will no longer be operating.
Thank you to all our members present and past that have contributed to making Powertalk Nelson-Waimea a wonderful club.
POWERTALK ALTERNATIVE: For anyone wanting to join a club with the same principals of Powertalk we recommend you get in touch with the Motueka Toastmasters. Contact Vincent on 021-027 89762 to have a chat beforehand or just show up.
Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, first meeting Wednesday 5th of February 2025. The meeting starts at 6.45pm sharp at the St Johns Hall,15 Courtney Street (inside the Jack Inglis complex). Turn left from Courtney Street, there will be a carpark on the left, the hall is part of the ambulance building on the right.
Learn to Speak with Confidence by mastering the art of public speaking and develop good communication skills in a relaxed and friendly environment with a Powertalk international speakers’ club. New members are always welcome.
Enhance your business and social speaking skills: good communication and leadership skills are built on confidence, clarity of thought and expression, and the ability to listen.
You may have been on a public speaking course, had presentation skills training or read many books on effective communication skills, but the only way to improve your skills is by practice.
Powertalk gives you the opportunity to practise in a friendly, supportive atmosphere, where you are given coaching by means of constructive feedback and advice.
Through coaching, supportive evaluation and practice at regular club meetings, members receive immediate and on-going improvement in their ability to address any audience.
